Thank you if you came to my Movie & Discussion night where we watched FoodMatters a great movie about how the medical profession persistently ignores nutrition as a treatment despite a massive body of scientific evidence.
Anyway we ended up discussing the future of food production and Mike Gentle later told me about a GREAT LITTLE BBC DOCUMENTARY call Farm for the Future free to watch on this link. Ever wondered what the carbon footprint of a garage ham sandwich is - unbelievable? The film really beautifully explains what peak oil is and what it means for the future of food. A little scary as it explains pretty plainly how we are going to have to drastically change how we produce food, but also kind of exciting if you are like me and worry about the long term future of our planet and have a strong desire to get back to the land! Check it out. And yes Paul Saleh, permaculture is going to be very important in feeding us in the future if this film is anything to go by! Thanks for all your input everyone! There were some other great contributions that I'll talk about another day!
